St Antony’s College is a world-renowned center for research and teaching in global and regional issues. On Tuesday 26 May 2015, the new building created by Zaha Hadid was unveiled and named the Investcorp Building. The £ 11 million steel and glass building was commissioned by the college to provide much-needed space for its Middle East Centre.

The new building doubles the space available for the Middle East Centre’s expanding library and archive, providing almost 1,200 square meters of additional floor space and a new 118-seat lecture theatre. The inventive lighting solutions for the Ivestcorp Building were planned by Arup and recognised at the 2015 Lux Awards, where Arup won ‘Education and Healthcare Lighting Project of the Year’. For the illumination in the lecture theater, halls, staircases and exterior use, linear lighting solutions of LED Linear™ were used. The luminaires used were an attractive option with their high quality of light and an optimum luminance for general lighting. In the outdoor area the VarioLED™ Flex VENUS could score points with protection class IP67 and therefore high durability.
