Since 2014 the National Library of Latvia is located in the so called “Castle of Light”. The impressive library building was designed by the world-renowned architect Gunnar Birkerts, who is Latvian by origin. The building is among the greatest cultural projects of the 21st century in Latvia.
For the illumination of the steps in front of the building, VarioLED™ OCEANOS White IP67/68 in 3,000 K was used. The fully encapsulated luminaire, made of stainless steel, has been designed for in-ground installation. The homogeneous light over the entire light-emitting surface sets appealing light accents and offers orientation and safety for pedestrians who are walking on the stairs at night.
