The Mauritshuis is home of the very best works of Dutch Golden Age painting. Masterpieces such as Vermeer's “Girl with a pearl earring” are on permanent display in this seventeenth-century monument.
For the renovation of the Mauritshuis, several products of LED Linear have been used to lighten the interior of this important building. At the stairway the VarioLED™ Flex VENUS TV has been used. Each stair step is illuminated with a light line, and thus provides safety and orientation for the visitors. In addition, the staircase becomes an attractive architectural design element in the room. The VarioLED™ Flex VENUS was also used to lighten the elevator made from glass. The interplay of light and glass seems modern and creates an appealing contrast to the history of the building. To lighten the shelving in the store of the Mauritshuis VarioLED™ Flex PHOBOS TV was used. Through the homogeneous light each exhibit is pleasantly illuminated.
