Martinus Library Mainz, Germany
The Martinus Library Mainz celebrated its re-opening on November 11, 2017. The library urgently needed renovation due to fire safety guidelines. Among other things, the lighting designers had the task of illuminating parts of the library and the reading area with good light. On the middle level of the reading area the round LYRA luminaire was installed. This elegant and shapely luminaire can be swiveled almost 360 ° and, with its 10 ° linear optic, is ideally suited for illumination for both reading tables. Similarly, the LYRA was used in the pendant version as a general lighting in the ceiling with the round opal optic.
The staircase of the library also shines in new gloss. The LYRA was installed precisely on all floors as a continuous light line on the wall. The lighting design is not only a visual eye-catcher, it also lights up the stairs with a harmonious 3000 Kelvin.
