iRASSHAi

iRASSHAi was opened in August 2023 and is located in the historic "Les Halles" district, nestled between "Bourse de Commerce" and "rue du Louvre." It's the perfect place for lovers of Japanese cuisine. Unique in Paris, this concept store features two restaurants, a takeaway counter, a cocktail bar, a café, and a cooking studio, all arranged around a large food market. Every day of the week, from morning to evening, iRASSHAi - which means "Welcome" in Japanese - offers a unique experience with both traditional and contemporary Japanese cuisine and beverages.

While the cuisine at iRASSHAi SHOKUDO remains authentic, the atmosphere and location exude a contemporary flair. This reflects iRASSHAi's dedication to bringing together the best of both worlds: Japanese authenticity in a Parisian setting, creating a unique experience.

The architecture of iRASSHAi is the result of a collaboration between Hugo Haas and Yusuke Kinoshita, with support from Xavier Marchand and Thierry Maincent. Together, they have designed a contemporary space that combines both Japanese and Parisian elements. The challenge was to establish a cohesive aesthetic while preserving the unique identity of each area. To achieve this, they used the same materials: ash and chestnut wood, along with aluminum. The layout of the spaces on the premises follows the desire for coherence. From the SHOKUDO canteen to the KISSATEN café, iRASSHAi offers a variety of experiences, yet a unified design language runs throughout the entire space. Natural materials, exposed ceilings, and clay plaster are subtle nods to contemporary Japanese design.

The lighting atmosphere in the SHOKUDO canteen is provided by the XOOTUBE™ IP40 fixtures. They create a pleasant and inviting ambiance, contributing to the enjoyment of meals and beverages. Through their installation, these fixtures generate a warm, cozy, and vibrant atmosphere, aligning with the desire to blend the contemporary with the traditional.
