The project was the illumination of the main building of the Cooperative Bank of Thessaly, a construction of 900 sqm in the Greek city of Trikala. Key design criteria, from the period of the relevant architectural competition, constituted a high quality working environment and the creation of an "emblematic" building, crucial to the new corporate identity of the bank.
Through a central glass canopied atrium core daylight can enter vertically throughout the building. This provides the possibility of 'internal' natural lighting for the public service spaces on the ground floor and office spaces on the upper levels. The artificial lighting of the building is based on the use of LED lamps in 4,000 K (daylight), for maximum energy saving, visual comfort and optimum color performance and texture of the materials. The external lighting of the building was implemented with IP67 protected LED luminaire HYDRALUX. The luminaire is fully embedded to the architectural elements of the building in order to enhance the plasticity of the shell during the night.
