Canalejas complex, historic elegance in the centre of Madrid
The Canalejas complex is the result of one of the most important urban redevelopments in Europe. The project involves the restoration of seven historic buildings that house the first Four Seasons Hotel in Spain, more than twenty new luxury flats and a large shopping centre on three floors. Atelier Anoche has breathed soul into the façade of this architectural marvel, now elegant and distinguished in the centre of Madrid.
A successful lighting proposal that highlights the details and individual characteristics of each building while creating a common and coherent reading of the whole. Prior to the proposal, a thorough revision of the catalogue was carried out to restore all the details and historical elements of the building. This delicate work not only furthered the understanding of the architecture, but also provided the necessary clues to determine how the individual façade openings, cornices, columns, vertical elements and details of the ensemble should be illuminated.
One of the priorities was to maintain the aesthetics and enhance the inner courtyard. The light from the XOOLUX™ NANO highlights the fittings and openings of a unique architecture clad in warmly lit plant textures, making this space a friendlier place.
A large stone wall rises at the end of the courtyard. This element forms the background that will help us understand the interior and exterior space. A light show with ADONIS and KALYPSO that invites us to experience a new and unique environment, spectacularly lit.
